«Mindfulness in Context – First Module» – Retreat for Teachers of Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBI).
This standalone study and practice retreat is the first in a series of four that will examine Buddhist roots of contemporary mindfulness based applications. The retreat will focus on understanding key mind functions from a Buddhist Psychology point of view, discern different facets and allies of mindfulness and assess their respective roles in developing insight and transforming distress and dissatisfaction. We will explore the Satipatthana Discourses to understand the ways this teaching underpins and informs contemporary mindfulness. Format: Mornings will be dedicated to silent, sustained practice. Afternoons and evenings will be opportunities for teaching and collective inquiry.
Requirements: The retreat is open to people teaching MBIs or those currently in training to do so.
Important: This is a standalone and donation-based module. While we encourage following all four retreats during 2018-19 it is possible to attend only this one.
