The Ten Paramis is a classical Theravada Buddhist teaching. The Pali word "parami" translates roughly as "perfection". Each parami is an aspect of character that can be developed and at the same time is something that supports the growth of deeper practice.
This retreat will be dedicated to an exploration of the many ways we judge ourselves and others, and the ways that mindfulness, wisdom, and loving-kindness can transform the energy of judging into discernment and compassion.
Since the time of the Buddha, intensive retreat practice has been considered crucial for the maturing of insight. The simplicity and support of the retreat environment encourage a continuity of awareness.
Our world cries out for healing, for peace. Our spiritual practice reminds us that true peace isn't to be found "out there," but is already imminent for each of us in our own being.
